    I mean that even in areas where barbs are permitted.  I honestly don't think I lose more fish, and I believe I get better hook sets.  A steady tension on the line is enough to keep the fish.

      once they're properly on they can rarely throw the hook.

        I visited once, when I was in the area (temporary duty up at Malmstrom AFB, Montana).  Mostly I've fished trout in Washington, and some on trips to Alaska, California, and Colorado.

        It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in Bremerton and I'm stuck studying for a couple of college classes.  I'd rather be fishing (a buddy tells me the steelhead are running heavy in the Cowlitz right now).  However, I do have a June sturgeon trip booked on the lower Columbia.  Maybe I'll "forget" to register for summer classes.
