  •  Deal with it the same way as any discrimination (1+ / 0-)

The military had and still has programs to encourage compliance with integration.  Emphasise that whether a soldier "agrees" with homosexuality or not, common decency and military honor requires that one not discriminate.  Include sexual orientation with race during basic training so people know where the red lines are, and I am pretty sure this really is not going to be that big of a problem.  Issues of sex in the military should not be significantly different whether heterosexual (much of which is prohibited also) or homosexual.

but comming up with things like...

there are training programs, sensitivity training, education about gays (i.e. not a lifestyle, not looking to convert you in the shower or foxhole)

Getting all the fear stuff on the table and dealing with it...

Officer training, rules about sexual harassment (should apply equally to M-M, F-F, M-F)

Order of implementation, pilot programs, maybe start with non-combat operations...

All those things including understanding the 25% and creating counter programs would go a long way to a more seamless and trouble free implementation...

I think we are on the same page.  The important thing though is to get rid of this horrible policy.

with you. In fact Lt. Col Victor Fehrenbach claims it would take 90 days to institute the "end of DADT". The 90 day window is needed, according to him, to rewrite all the manuals, laws, yada to ensure the implementation went smoothly.

          •  Why don't you just say what you think (0+ / 0-)

is appropriate and and clear up the confusion?

apparently if I do not specifically layout a timeline, the timeline must be some rediculous delay tactic...sheeesh...

I am not a military logistics officer...let them lay out a rollout plan approved by the generals and I am fine with that...
