trying to play a game of Jenga in an earthquake zone.

Why not just include the Public Option to get $25 billion of deficit reduction so this bill is well protected against a Byrd rule challenge in the Senate.  Having a bill that is so close to not having the $2 billion in deficit reduction needed to survive a Byrd rule challenge makes me nervous.  If one little provision gets axed by a Point of Order or a minor amendment passes slightly increasing the bills cost, the F'in Reconciliation bill could go down.

I can't believe the Public Option is such a poison pill that it would jeopardize the votes needing to pass this bill, especially if Pelosi comes out and says its the only way they could get enough deficit reduction into the bill to survive the Rec. process in the Senate.

I don't care what deal was made to leave out the PO, is it worth jeopardizing the bill's passage?

I realize Mr. Obama had to get his campaign $$$ from the big guys (or did he have to?) but, maybe he should keep his promise to us instead, and to Ted Kennedy, and let the corporatists suck it up for once!
