did you get a chance to watch the DN interview of the two?

i thought Kucinich was very eloquent and sincere about the direction HCR needs to take.

i also liked juan's question about the constitutionality of such legislation.  with this SCOTUS, it's feasible that a 5-4 majority will strike down portions of the legislation.

too much multi-tasking going on! But I will get to it or the transcript, doc. Glad to see someone from the real (American-style) left getting out there a bit. I used to say that the American idea of a leftist was a multi-millionaire consumer advocate who lives in a mansion in Connecticut, but in all fairness he's much more than that - we just need more of them.

I agree with you on DK and like the stance he's taking toward trying to move other elements of real HCR now: "Standing at the sidelines, I think, is not an option right now, because, you know, we have to try to reshape the Obama presidency. And I hope that, in some small way, through my participation in trying to take healthcare in a new direction, that I can help do that." And Nader follows that up well with saying that the next 4 years are years for activism, rather than just waiting to see just how bad it is. I'm very curious too about the constitutional issues, since I read somewhere that 30-something states are proposing laws or changes in state constitutions to ban mandatory health insurance.

I have to say that Nader is right about everything. I really think we're in a box.
