    Coulda fooled me.  They've certainly managed to interject themselves rather nicely into the HCR debate.  Nobody even wants to go near the Hyde Amendment, and they've had more than a little success getting legislation passed at both the federal and state level.

      The mainstream doesn't take the anti-abortion movement seriously.  It's one of those things that's considered a phase that college kids go through, like Ayn Rand's objectivism.

        doesn't take the anti-choicers seriously is a big part of why they've been able to accomplish everything they have over the last few decades.  While we've been snickering, they've been organizing and working.  They've succeeded in greatly degrading the ability of most women to exercise their right to have an abortion, and we're still ceding ground to them.

        And by the way, our country is being led around the nose by those Randites, too.  Snickering at them hasn't been any more effective than snickering at the anti-choicers has been.
