    I think we probably have to split the difference on his reason. Definitely anti-choice but he also reacted more strongly than most to the "Cadillac tax" issue. I wonder if some personal outreach from national union leadership might be persuasive? He is first and foremost a unionist in his soul, so maybe they can reach him.

      as cover to oppose the bill, while the Stupak mess is settled. He's with Stupak and he doesn't want his constituents to know.

      PS. Joe Courtney from my state is even on board, as of today, and he was the leader in the House against the excise tax.
