  •  Brown won because... (0+ / 0-)

at the time of the special election the U.S. Senate Democrats were in full delay mode and acting like a bunch of spineless wimps.  They had 60 votes and still looked like the minority party.  Also, Coakley did run a piss poor campaign.  From my understanding, she used DLC Democrats as advisers.  Ask Hillary Clinton how good they are in running campaigns.

I was the youngest in my family growing up therefore I WAS the remote control.

    •  Ummm, Hillary won Massachusetts (0+ / 0-)

And the Brown election really wasn't about national politics -- except for the racist set that also hates our current governor.

Brown won because Coakley's negatives were incredibly higher -- higher than I realized because of the piss-poor campaign Capuano ran against her.  As DA, she let a politically-connected child rapist walk (he was later convicted by her more courageous successor).  She also lobbied the governor to prevent an innocent man from having his sentence commuted, even after serving more than twenty years in prison.

Brown's supporters on talk radio hammered on these issues, and they brought her down.  It wasn't really about health care at all, except for the tea bagger minority that uses "health care" as a stand in for their racist fears.

text "YELE" to 501501 to give five bucks to Haitian relief, or "HAITI" to 90999 to give ten to the Red Cross.
