  •  But, Will Dean Be Elected? (none)
The DNC has so institutionalized failure that I wonder if they're actually capable of electing a Chair who would reverse the trend.

Let's say that Dean is elected. Will one person at the top, even if the person is extremely capable, be able to get the party to carry out the necessary changes?

The DNC seems to be rather tenacious in its adherance to poor strategies, slow to comprehend and adapt to new political dynamics and incapable of providing reasoned alternatives to the hallucinatory actions of the Republicans. That tenaciousness makes me wonder if anyone can turn the the Democratic Party around.

Someone once asked me why I use the word "lamentably" so often. I told her that it was because there is much to lament.

    •  If we show up (none)
Dean can change the party.  It's gonna depend on us.

Democrats: We believe in fiscal, economic, social, civic, personal, and moral responsibility.

Republicans: We take risks with your future.

      •  Amen. (none)
Dean has been saying all along, and I suspect he'll say it again if he becomes DNC chair, that change depends upon US.

No doubt, he will be calling upon people like us to come through for him and give him the support and backing he needs to get things done.

    •  Don't confuse DNC leadership with rank & file (none)
Don't confuse the DNC leadership and the consultant class with the DNC rank & file members. The rank & file members have a LOT of Dean supporters, it's only the leadership that isn't there yet.
