  •  what we should do is... (0+ / 0-)

Pass a bill and then let the righties try to tie it up in court.  This has to be done in a manner that is not amenable to an immediate slapdown in the form of a Supreme Court injunction.

The point being to tie up the corporations at least through November.  And then do it again in 2012 and 2014 if needed: long enough to replace a few of the Justices.

That or pack the court.  FDR didn't actually succeed at doing so, but he did at least manage to get them to back down a bit.  The threat of court-packing, by itself, has deterrence value.

    •  You think that after Obama's course of dealing (0+ / 0-)

this year he would ever consider packing the court?

I expect him to return to the alter of bipartisanship, if he ever left it.

      •  we'll see, won't we? (0+ / 0-)

And the best thing for us to do is keep up the emails: "Dear Mr. President: please don't compromise with people whose explicit agenda is to cause your administration to fail."

Lots and lots of emails.  Enough to cause a blip in the White House IT budget for replacing hard drives on their servers.
