  •  I know a bit about political ads... (none)
    and how to construct them.

I think you'd be more effective if you do a factcheck of the ad.  When you do a factcheck of the ad, have the original ad play visually in the background, but make sure that you have it canted on one half of the screen. On the other half, put IN PRINT what the corrections are with citations in small print at the bottom, and have the print appear in sync with the audio.

You will need to make a series of ads targetted at older and younger voters.  Younger voters tend to be FOR private accounts.  An ad campaign targeted at younger voters MUST address this fact.  Younger voters don't believe that SS will be around when they retire...they are more likely to believe that there's a crisis.  You ought to say that the UK and Argentina have tried privatization and it has failed miserably.  And ask why would we take the risk in this country.

Also, different visuals work better with different generations.  Pace is really important.

Do you happen to have any video editing capabilities?

I do, but I'm not terribly experienced at this sort of thing...

    •  one more thing before i go. (none)
i was thinking of something very similiar, actually. i think that a 'fact check' type ad may be a great place to start. what we'll need (and i doubt it'll be that difficult) is the actual fact check data (with the citations) if someone can compile that in reference to this ad, then the ad is halfway done. i make up the graphics card and we're off to the races, so to speak. anybody up for that?

a little bit of uh-huh and a whole lotta oh yeah...
