  •  there is a difference to being (0+ / 0-)

pro-israel and pro-likud policy of war and genocide against the palestinian people.

see my post above, it sounds like grayson is caught in a suspension of disbelief  between the conflicting values of his self identification as a strong american jew who supports israel and his moral standing against war and human rights violations.

    •  I'm a Jew, many of us here are Jews. Grayson (0+ / 0-)

is an AIPAC supporter. That's pretty darn rare around here. He's for what you call genocide. Odd that you would support him given that.

I'm in the pro-Obama wing of the Democratic Party.

this is the quote that made me think of this as genocide:

Kramer proposed that the number of Palestinian children born in the Gaza Strip should be deliberately curbed, and alleged that this would "happen faster if the West stops providing pro-natal subsidies to Palestinians with refugee status."

Due to the Israeli blockade, the vast majority of Palestinians in Gaza are now dependent on UN food aid. Neither the UN, nor any other agencies, provide Palestinians with specifically "pro-natal subsidies."

Kramer appeared to be equating any humanitarian assistance at all with inducement for Palestinians to reproduce.

He added, "Israel’s present sanctions on Gaza have a political aim — undermine the Hamas regime — but if they also break Gaza’s runaway population growth, and there is some evidence that they have, that might begin to crack the culture of martyrdom which demands a constant supply of superfluous young men." This, he claimed, would be treating the issue of radicalization "at its root."

the link you described showed that Grayson was lobbied heavily by AIPAC and decided that he agreed with the arguments made by them.  Sad as that is it isn't a litmus test for me, I still support nancy pelosi and you saw what she did at the AIPAC conference???

        Honorable Representative Grayson,

I am a big supporter of your efforts to continue representative democracy here in America.  I would ask you to reconsider your support to the right-wing AIPAC that supports the Likud policies of perpetual war and human rights violations in Gaza and the West Bank.  I believe that the myopic version of reality offered by AIPAC is actually placing Israel in in more danger than protection.

Please reconsider, in the spirit of humanity's sacrosanctity.

        Thank You
