fits on my doglock, so I'm set there. And I don't have a cutlass, but do I have a turcael, which is a cutlass blade married to a Highland basket hilt. This in addition to my claidheamh mòr and biodag (dirk).

I don't have a cartridge box only because I've been keeping my shot in my sporran and a powder measure on a lanyard. But I guess that's just not fast enough reloading for Congrefs.

...the Windlass Steelcrafts version of what you're describing -- a nice item, but not sure I'm willing to pay that much for it right at the moment.

As far as a cartridge box, when I can actually talk myself into rolling cartridge, I've got a hard leather pouch that works, even though it's not really "correct" for it.

is all wrong. Blah. I took their "Pirate Cutlass" (which was way cheaper, as it was on clearance, now no longer sold) instead, since the blade is almost identical to that held aloft in a portrait (scroll down, click on the pic) of Alastair Mhor Grant, Champion of Clan Grant, from 1714.

I  had a friend weld some extra metal to the tang, and had him put on a pretty accurate basket from what I think was originally one of Paul Chen's swords (similar to this), which I bought from another reenactor for $100. The cost of getting the sword modified was $0, since my friend got to keep the blade (which he will be cutting down into two dirks and a sgian achlais or two).

        Here's the final result.

I suppose I could pick up a cartridge box from Najecki reproductions. I already have a former.

I guess a belt of 12 Apostles wouldn't satisfy the law, eh?

          ...than the Windlass.

I'm largely off of the so-called "battle-ready" stuff, like Windlass and Paul Chen, leaning more towards stage-combat stuff.

Although, I'm seriously kicking around the idea of marrying a couple of the Windlass rapiers we've had kicking around for years to either double-wide epee blades or the new-ish "safety blades" that Paul Chen and another place or two are putting out.
