    There is a way out of this for Romney. He should basically just say that the Democrats couldn't have passed healthcare reform without Republican ideas, and the most important Republican ideas come from his Massachusetts plan.

    Sure, he can criticize and pick apart details in the new law--the near-absence of tort reform, for example--but he can basically claim significant credit for it. "The most important piece of Democratic legislation in decades is based on recycled Republican ideas--my ideas!"

    It's true that a lot of the Republican base and their media feeding tubes wouldn't be able to comprehend this, but a lot of Republicans and independents would get it, I think,

    All I'm saying is that Romney could spin Obamacare into Romneycare and, if he were clever, profit from it politically.

    We saw yesterday that Grassley is already starting to use a less ambitious but similar strategy in his campaign.
