If this were to happen at my campus, I probably wouldn't think much about it, given that once I'm off campus, I could very well be in proximity to someone who is carrying a concealed firearm.  I don't think my campus would turn into a shooting gallery, but I would be concerned about an increased chance of gun violence.

I don't find very convincing the following arguments:

    1.  "Criminals already carry guns in violation of the law":  True, but that's a tautology.  Violating the law is what makes you a criminal (in the most basic sense); everyone is a law-abiding citizen until she or he is not.
    1.  "CCW on campus will reduce deaths in mass shooting incidents":  Perhaps, but it could just as well increase them.  We're not talking about a situation in which you're shooting at a stationary and inanimate target.  People move around and people shoot back (and people miss their targets); not to mention the intangibles of a situation in which a person who is armed (even if that person is the "good guy") is under stress.

If, in the end, we determine that allowing concealed carry on university property is not a serious risk and the laws are modified to allow it, I can live with that.  My rule will be what it is elsewhere with respect to concealed carry:  if the bullets from your gun hit me when I am no threat to you, you go to jail.

Procrastination: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now.
