      everyone in the study had a TSH of 4.0 nanograms/ml or higher but those treated for hypothyroidism had better cardiovascular function.

      And these were people without symptoms (supposedly.) If you have someone with fatigue or weight gain, then treatment isn't even controversial. It's considered good medical practice.

        I am just starting to get bullish on it - I have alwasy known my thyroid is low, but why nobody acted on this and why my primary care doctor simply said "your thyroid is FINE"when the TSH was 5.12 baffles me.
