This doesn't get much attention in Nevada...sorry to burst your bubble.  People are too focused on the crappy Gov. Jim Gibbons and his little sex scandals.  The local news talks about Ensign from time to time, but I know plenty of people don't know anything about what's going on with him.  And who are those people that don't know anything about what's going on?  People that vote in Nevada.  Unless you follow politics, chances of knowing about this are very slim.  By the way...Jon Ralston is totally irrelevant...sorry to say.  He totally badgered the then Senator Obama when he was running for president and was flat out rude to him.

Here's the wannabe cable news host Jon Ralston "interviewing" Obama...

And one more thing...unless Ensign resigns, I'm pretty certain he'll be re-elected in 2012, because there doesn't seem to be a viable Democratic candidate that could actually win statewide.

I hope Jon Ralston eats his words about Obama flip-flopping on Yucca Mountain.  Obama was one of the main reasons Yucca Mountain was killed...ugh...can't stand Ralston!

i was commenting to mr. oblios arrow the other day that it was hard to find any stories about ensign in the reno gazette-journal.  even a lot of the gibbon's stuff is buried.  the las vegas sun does a little better, but most of the time i have to do a google news search to get stories on both of these guys.

And it's the exact same thing on the local news.  The briefly mention it as if it's not a big deal and then it's on to other news.  I just don't think it's as much of an issue in Nevada as it is to people across the country.  I see it kind of the same as Harry Reid...you have people across the country constantly criticizing him, but Nevadans don't make such a huge issue out of him.  If anything, I think the national media is what's affecting his approval ratings in Nevada.  They're critical of him, but they fail to report what a great job he's doing for Nevadans.

or even a little deal, if the people never hear about it?  The local newscasters are treating people of the state like mushrooms.

          .

          •  I'm not really sure... (0+ / 0-)

I don't know if they think that there are more important issues to worry about...ie education (we're one of the worst states on that), foreclosures (we're number 1 unfortunately), jobs, etc.  I think those are all important issues and they seem to take up a majority of the local news.  Which I think is kind of a good thing.  I mean, it keeps away the pettiness of politics for the most part.  However, if there are legal issues with Ensign, they should be reporting on it a lot more.
