    Always a good guideline.  And the SEIU example is a fine one.

    I will gently add that being smart about defending and acting loyal is just as important.  

    Praise elected Democrat when they do right, let them know when they do wrong.   Don't treat them like crap, but neither should they be treated like royalty, or delicate hothouse flowers.

      them as people but rather the policies they espouse. 'Criticizing Dems' is easy, pointing out their flawed stances on policy direct the talk at the actual problem. As Coburn said of one of his toughest political rivals, 'she's a nice lady.'. All to often here there's an assumed correlation between policy choices and level of evilness of the chooser.
