  •  I see this in my kids and their friends (5+ / 0-)

They are very comfortable in diverse groups and don't understand what all the fuss is about.  But - will this generation vote and support candidates with those views?  Complacency in the face of the tea party agenda is very dangerous.

    •  Agreed. So many more inter-racial families. nt (0+ / 0-)
    •  What exactly is the tea party agenda? (1+ / 0-)

If it's to put those "small government" Republicans back in power, they'll be sorely disappointed if they actually succeed.  The economy won't get any better, and jobs will keep going overseas.

Most Republicans weren't really happy with Bush but it was for the wrong reasons.  They thought it was because D.C. corrupted him or something. They never seemed to realize it was the Republican agenda to lead they way Bush did.

Of course, I guess the tea partiers have every right to be angry at the Democratic party.  Obama and co. pretty much stand for the same economic polices the Republicans do.  Fact is, unless you make your money on Wall Street, neither political party is going to make your financial situation much better.

It's amazing to me that the kids I knew that were so tolerant are now grown up in their 40's and just as bad, or worse, than their racist parents.

They were great when they were 10 or 15 years old.

But they've forgotten that "We are the World" stuff and now they quote Glenn Beck and the Drug-addled Gas Bag hisself.
