saying: OF THE 45% of white people who don't disapprove of the tea party 35% believe blacks to be hard working..

Which says NOTHING about the 55% of whites who don't approve of the tea party. All it says is that they have identified 29.25 % of whites (all of whom don't disapprove of the tea party) who don't believe blacks are hard working.

I'm not saying that's a good thing, but it is not nearly half of whites thankfully. And I haven't looked at his overall methodology (no time sorry) but there is plenty of room for discussion about how he asked his questions etc. Did they make sure they were clear about the difference between whether one thinks that intelligence and education are the same thing? Plus it says NOTHING about hate. It does say they have a negative view of some qualities when refering to Blacks and Latinos and that is sad.

    •  The 2010 census will clear up all of this. (0+ / 0-)

Any political party that runs on white-based racial appeals after 2010 is tattooing "Loser" on its forehead.

The change in the electorate -- overwhelming.

BTW: we're looking for the gerrymandering in Texas to backfire.

I laugh every time I think about those crazy Repubs saying the census is a conspiracy..

I'm not so certain about white-based politics ending in 2010, it will be 18 years before those babies can vote. The Republicans can't think that far into the future as they've proven time and again in their stance against remediation of global climate change, anti labor efforts and attempts to eliminate their customer base in the middle class.
