  •  This sounds like a great program (10+ / 0-)

I've periodically donated to Seeds of Peace, an organization devoted to bringing Israeli and Palestinian youth together in the United States.  A former boss of mine was a supporter of a similar organization that brought Protestant and Catholic kids from Northern Ireland to the United States, where they experienced being around both Protestants and Catholics and seeing that it's really not necessary for Protestants and Catholics to be killing and assaulting each other.

because of religious persecution.  My grandfather was a protestant minister.  I ended up marrying a Catholic.

Yeah.  The family got over it.  (Although my mother still wears orange on St. Pat's day!)

Thanks for the Seeds of Peace link.  Good group.

You beat me to it!  Sorry about the repeat post on Seeds of Peace, upthread.  Did you know they now work in other regions of the world, too?

Actually, I realized it when I looked at their website to do the link.  I hadn't realized it before that, and that made me realize that I haven't made a donation to them in the past couple of years, and have probably been dropped from their mailing list for that reason.  I'm going to remedy that this weekend.
