I'm glad somebody else stepped in.  I do have a really nice story about Congressman Dingell.  He and his wife Debbie used to serve on the committee for "A Taste of Trenton."  Well years ago I was talking to somebody while at the festival and they remarked that they didn't know who their congressman was.  I looked around and true to form Representative Dingell wasn't just sitting around.  I said, see that guy over there emptying that trash can?  That's "Big John".  Go over and say hi to Congressman Dingell, your rep.

I also never saw any security around him or saw any troubles.  Everyone down here loved him.  Even people that haven't been in his district in almost 10 years still love him.  (after the crazy redistricting job the Republicans did after the last census.)

In fact, friends of mine that aren't teabaggers but are conservatives got very upset with the treatment that Dingell was given at his town hall, they started listening to me more about the facts and came around to not hating the whole idea of reform.

I love this story. I'm a person that used to be quite negative about Congressman Dingell but I have long since changed my opinion and made amends for negative comments that I have made, some of which can still be found floating around the internets, much to my chagrin and embarrassment.

I feel like I'm making up for it now, though ;)

I've had problems with some of Congressman Dingell's policies and his relationship to Billy Tauzin, but for constituent services the guy just can't be beat.....and healthcare well that's been his baby forever.
