those words came from his heart and not from his PR.

But, I'm over Woods for his lack of any moral conviction. Before this whole blowup he refused to use his stature to speak out against child labor and sex trafficking. To me the refusal spoke volumes about who Tiger really was.

I think my assumptions have been proved correct.

      statements much earlier.

The child labor and sex trafficking issues is all about Nike, right?  I think that can be understood because Nike is basically his employer.  We can all have our moral convictions but when it comes to literally billions of dollars, it's hard to imagine what we would do in the same situation.  Could you really say, sorry Nike, take your money?  I don't want to sound bankrupt but ... I work for a Catholic university.  I am tenured.  Could I say, "Hey, I quit because of problems with the Catholic church."  No, I couldn't do that.  I need a job and there are many things I like about what they do.

For me, the nuances are too large to condemn Tiger for that.

Tiger did have leverage, even with Nike, to have arrived at a nuanced statement.

The sex trafficking was the time he was spending among the elite in the Middle East. A hot bed for trafficking and slavery. Designing a golf course, playing... etc. I don't think it would be too hard to say something. So, no, I don't cut him a break.

And you, at your Catholic University, don't have the stature of Tiger woods. But, if you were a Nobel laureate or Pulitzer Prize (Literature)winner you'd have the opportunity to speak out.

        IMHO
