Steeler fans are more moral than other teams' fans. As a lifelong Pittsburgh-area resident, I can assure you that Pittsburghers are no more or less moral than the residents of Cleveland, Baltimore, New York, etc.

But the Rooneys? To me, they're the gold standard of sports owners, and they have a history of ridding themselves of troublemakers, the latest of which was Santonio Holmes, a former Super Bowl MVP with Hall-of-Fame talent.

Now, like you, I was struck by the fact that they could get only a fifth-round pick for Holmes. But I'm assuming there's more about Holmes than the rest of us are aware and that was simply the best that they could do.

Now, could you please take a moment and apologize to any Neanderthals you may have offended by comparing them to Roethlisberger?

Steelers fans don't promote themselves that way, but the press most certainly does play up the Moral and Righteous Working Class base of the Steelers.  (Two words: Peter King.)  I'm not blaming Steelers fans for that.

I'm with you on the Rooneys.  I quite like them, both as people and as competent owners.  I still think the Holmes trade was stupid, despite his obvious problems.  Plus, I'm a Dolphins fan, and you gave the fucker to the Jests, so I'm feeling all Ray Lewisy about Yinzerland right now. ;)

      Lulz to Neanderthals and  +1.

interesting this year for sure.  And, the Steelers have to play them.  That was also discussed in questioning the trade.

So, my only sports autograph is Joey Porter.  I still miss him.  I like having someone who is the way he is ... I don't even know how to say it, but you know.

We were in the airport in Phoenix and I went up and asked him for his autograph.  It was like ... sort of begrudging and he had to ask me if I had a pen.  Good old Joey.  His better days are behind him but I still like him.  Ripped too.

But he just doesn't seem to have it in him to play at an elite level anymore.

As for the Jests, I'm feeling better about it now that we have Brandon Marshall for Henne to throw to. :)

    •  My thought on Holmes was that it happened very (0+ / 0-)

quickly and they did not shop him around much.  He was phoned at 11 PM and that was it.  He said he was stunned.  Although there were certain warnings that they were looking for WR.  Bringing a couple free agents including Randle El should have said something.

I am going to miss the end zone dancing.  Ward can't dance worth crap.
