When you watch the interview (and I went over that segment three times via YouTube to make sure I knew exactly what he said) you can see that he did not intend to slam Summers and Rubin.  The statement he made that yes, he had received bad advice on derivatives and that he shouldn't have taken it, was wrapped up in a much larger statement about how Glass-Steagall had already been "breached" and other things.

So it's not like he attacked Summers and Rubin.  But apparently either he heard about it from somebody who wasn't happy, or he thought further about the whole thing after the interview was over -- otherwise, I don't think he would have had his "Counselor" contact Jake Tapper with a further statement/correction.

Also, I assume that "counselor" means his lawyer.  Does Clinton always do these kinds of follow up statements via his lawyer?  I'm sure he has a press secretary.

    It's just interesting.
