their policies are the best for the country ( despite their abject failures in the past) that they are rationalizing their obstructionism in thinking they have to do it in order to regain power. I'm sure even Collins, Snowe and co. are buying into this.

What can be done ?  I don't know.

As for the President, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. His progressive base wants him to "screw" the republicans. The independants want him to work with the republicans.

The only way out is to expose the republicans for what they're doing. But the MSM makes it almost impossible, almost always refusing to call out the lies and distorsions, maintaining the he said/she said meme. And the right-wing has a quasi-monopoly on talk radio.

What's the magic solution ? Anybody?

      summit and debate the Republicans.

That was the only way that America was allowed to see Republicans having to answer to their lies.

Seeing the President telling John McCain to get over losing the Presidency.

Seeing the President point out to Lamar Alexander that what he just stated is a lie and doesn't serve America well when lies are substituted for the truth.

Seeing Nancy Pelosi tell John Boehner there is nothing in this legislation that allows funds for abortion.

If the President thinks the media (getting more right wing everyday) is gonna report the truth, he is doing a disservice to Americans.

This is a heavy burden on our President, he has to do this all based on his charismatic personality and ability to debate his opponents.  America is unable to help him.  Having so many DINO Democrats in congress is also an obstruction.
