    Are one of the culprits of American obesity.  Eat a wide variety of foods.  But eat less of them.

    Here's how to do it:

    Use smaller plates at home

    Avoid restaurants.

    If you must go to a restaurant, split the meal with a friend or with yourself by packing half of it away at first
