    is a really over-the-top word for disagreement with non-schooling kids.

    Personally, I don't have a lot of use for it.  The home-schooled kids I know are neither well rounded, nor self-disciplined, nor emotionally mature.  But that is anecdotal evidence, and in any event, far from 'dangerous'.

      I have to admit that there are so few metrics on the efficacy of any sort of education, even the conventional instructional OSFA (one size fits all) type.  

      When we analyze things in the business world, we often look at outcomes or ask the people that participate in a particular program to evaluate it.  I think these could produce much more robust metrics than the simplistic standardized testing we do in schools which leads to "teaching to the test" rather than a holistic assessment of an educational environment.
