  •  "Tactical" is a misnomer, IMHO (0+ / 0-)

I cannot imagine a scenario where it would be possible, from a geopolitical standpoint, to use one of these "small" bombs. Even a counter-strike after a nuclear terrorist strike requires Jack Bauer levels of contrived circumstances.  (i.e. we know exactly who did it, they escaped, we know exactly where they are, they don't have any civilians within X miles, conventional forces won't work for whatever reason, etc. etc. etc.)  Oh, and all of the above intel is 100% knowable/correct.

So the weapons are strategic, if only for their geopolitical consequences than their battlefield use.  Why keep calling them tactical?
