    again, I´m not saying you shouldnt do what can be done to avoid this (major) step of invasion.

    for me it sounds like a no brainer. if its really dependent on these locks, and the entirety of the Great Lakes behind it, then it is just plain common sense to close them for good. One doesnt have to make it easy for the big mixup.

    Still, there´s no denying that a myriad of species "invasions" are ricocheting back and forth over this planet at this time, and it is the consequence of our way of life, and we are not going to change that way of life, so, on the whole, we as humans take it with a smile.

    Even if we do the obvious in a blatant case like this (as you argue). It does not take away the fact that we have learnt to live with, and will go on being amicable with, a multitude of this kind of thing happening now and in the future. We are not conservers. We are not carers.
