  •  Excellent post/recap of the lead-up to now... (6+ / 0-)
...as far as this "Greek tragedy's" concerned. It really is just the beginning of a much more widespread reality: the financial markets taking a close look at sovereign finances...everywhere...starting with Portugal, Ireland, Italy and Spain...and that's just based upon today's news cycle.

Interestingly, the same thing's happening domestically, too. (I'm posting a diary on this in a few moments.)

Add the crisis abroad with what's occurring with municipal and state finances, mix liberally with a now-almost-confirmed double-dip in U.S. housing, and things look like they're crossing over a very nasty, out-of-control threshold, IMHO.

Gold going through the roof, today, just underscores the situation.

    Tipped/rec'd!

    •  I think diaries like this fall into the (0+ / 0-)

      trap.

We're getting all breathless about debt, and soon austerity measures will be introduced here too.

      Welcome to HerbertHooverville.

There are two kinds of people in this world. The kind who divide the world into two kinds of people, and the kind who don't.
