  •  Reid should promise to step down (0+ / 0-)

as majority leader even if he wins.

We cannot have a majority leader who is so weak politically in his own state. And that's not even mentioning how ineffective and spineless he is as a leader. He gives "leader" an entirely new definition.

will be the power he has as majority leader. If he made that promise I think it would hurt him more than help him at the polls. He might be weak in his own state, however re-elected he'd be locked in for another six years.

Politics is like playing Asteroids - You go far enough to the left and you end up on the right. Or vice-versa.

and spineless, but he got the health care legislation through and has learned better ways of dealing with the Republicans.

As for being weak politically in his own state, he doesn't really have to worry about that until his term is up in 2016.

That's why Joe LIEberman drives us New England progressives crazy - we can't do anything to him until his term expires in 2012.

You are aware that Reid has been able to get legislation through the Senate against a solid block of "NO!"?

And you are aware that he has had a filibuster proof 60 vote caucus for only 96 days since Obama took office?  And one of those 60 was Slimy Joe?  And a bunch of those days were Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation periods?

And you are aware that Pelosi only needs a simple majority and has maintained a 40 vote advantage this entire time?

That "hopey-changey thing"? Takes a Magic Hawaiian to pull it off...
