All answers/solutions don't germinate and stem from one source-President Obama. Realize your own power as consumers. Show restraint and discernment in purchasing power. I've a personal grievance against Exxon and have boycotted them for 20+ yrs-since the Valdez oil spill.

We need, also, to work on a political level to tighten regulations and enforcement on oil corporations. The results of negligence and poor operating procedures are too devastating.

With such a disaster the control of handling the spill needs to be out of the hands of the corporation involved. History tells us they will not report the reality of the situation nor take the necessary first steps until too late. But, they must, without question, be totally responsible for the costs involved in clean up as well as what has been destroyed-wildlife, habitat, environmental damage, human life.

Ultimately, alternative energies are the only way forward. Wean your way off oil!

Anyone who can afford it should buy a Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, mitsubishi IMiev, etc.

And for a double whammy install pv solar power on the roof and charge the car's batteries with that.
