so that makes a little more sense. I only speak what I would call Spanglish and mostly political: "fermer la peticiones para alto la collaboration I.C.E. y la migra." Unsure of the spelling though. Highly geographic political work, I guess. And I have a long story with Latinos, between my son's father and a woman who I grew up with who was undocumented, separated from her own daughter (there's a story here), plus being from a Holocaust family (I'm Sephardic Jewish, not Latino, but we have similar stories and the Jewish community is outraged about this bill: we have not forgotten). My empathy is very high here. Human beings are human beings. What's the holdup figuring that out? You know?

I'm proud to have you as an ally yourself, Wildthumb. Panama. That's impressive. I'd love to hear your stories sometime. Please share anytime. Seriously. Feel free to just let it all pour out. I like hearing peoples' stories. They keep us from being impersonal pixels constructed in one anothers' minds.

But none of my "manglish" (mangled Spanglish)... I can read it... and understand some spoken... but not enough to get around much. One of my life's great embarrassments, but in school we studied French, German, and Latin. At least I understand un poquito.

My heart is in the place of my tongue.

One of the first things I thought of was the Jewish resonance with this evil bill. And there were Jews already demonstrating against it. More, more!

I like that "keep us from being impersonal pixels constructed in one another's minds." We'll learn about each other over time, I'm sure.
