    Meek cannot win.

I don't think he can, didn't think he could even in a two way race if Crist had the nomination for the R's.  The people feel they know who he is, they have seen how he legislates and as you said, he is popular with moderate dems and indies and moderate repubs.

    •  he definitely couldnt have beaten (0+ / 0-)

crist in a two way but against Meek he could have had an argument and probably would have prevailed.

now, with crist in, i'm not optimistic about meek's chances. it makes me sad.

      •  I was very uncomfortable (0+ / 0-)
with a two-way race between Rubio and Meek too!  Two unknown guys from with the Jeb Bush machine running the show.  Voter turnout would have sucked in the crucial I-4 corridor and that would not have been good for Meek or Sink.  (that's why I am not mad at Charlie for still running)

    •  Okay, sorry about the source (0+ / 0-)

but here's an interesting bit from a Quinnipac poll on April 15th:

Rubio has opened up a wide, 23-point lead over his opponent Crist with 5 months to go to the Republican primary, according to the survey. However, in a 3-way race with Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek, Crist -- running as an independent --would edge out both  Rubio, and Meek. Crist would get 32 percent of the vote, compared to Rubio’s 30 percent and Meek’s 24 percent, according to Quinnipiac. The poll's margin of error is +/- 4.4 percentage points.
