  •  I would argue that (6+ / 0-)

it isn't NAFTA so much as corn subsidies that are the problem.  If corn wasn't subsidized below the cost of production (which farmers in the movie Food Inc. and other experts note), then these farmers could likely compete with agribusiness - maybe even beat them.  And, if they could beat agribusiness, they could export their crops to the US.  We could have high quality corn grown by small farmers killing agribusiness instead of agribusiness killing small farmers here and internationally.

What a breath of fresh air that might be.

It would also remove the incentive to use HFCS in everything, most likely with huge health benefits.

I'm pretty happy with 121st place. Not bad for 13 points.

That great sucking sound Ross Perot predicted has come and gone. It vaccumed up jobs across the US.

Now they are working on aviation assembly, Whirlpool has already flown across the border, along with auto assembly. Don't know when aircraft assembly will be enhanced by parts manufacture and then design.

Piper and Cessna are getting their new basic trainer class planes from China, whoopee.
