You encouraged me to write a diary about the big picture driving immigration the other day.

In case you read your replies, it is rapidly moving off the conveyor belt, but is here:

hope that the idiots who have no constructive and creative solutions but only look to tear down will not win the day.

I hope that it is diary rescued.

Does anyone know how to contact diary rescue? It's a spot on read and very important. I don't think there is any ONE story, mind you, about the situation with immigration (I say this with five years in immigration activism... mainly with Mexican immigrants from Michoacan, if you want to be very, very specific). But I think the connections you're making are integral toward understanding some of the driving force behind some Mexican immigration, going way back. I have a friend who is a Professor of Sociology who specifically studies immigration patterns and I think he would find your diary highly relevant and credible. Just remember, we all tell a little bit of the story to create a full picture. Myself included.

When I speak on immigration, I'm always highly conscious of how little I know about refugees or highly skilled immigrants, for example, particularly from Asia. I have some personal knowledge of Mexican agricultural immigration, however, that is why I feel like the Arizona issue is SO hard-hitting to me. It's the same population, essentially, that I currently talk to here in Northern California.

Diary rescue needed for a great diary, Stuart! I'm glad you found my gentle proddings to do what you do best -- think and write -- a good provocation to do just that. I hate to see diaries like yours fall off the list :/
