    If you are talking about the Constitution, taking a fundamentalist view reasonably encompasses the idea that laws will change with the times. However, the spirit of those ideas will stay the same, and the idea of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are definitely fundamental. The idea that we are all created equal is fundamental.
    Sometimes it seems as if we allow conservatives to completely re-label words without observing some of the other definitions that are contained in their meaning.
