I noted that I would be offline for quite a while because of my teaching responsibilities.  I arrived at school at 7:15, had a staff meeting at 7:30 and have been teaching non-stop since until 11:45.  I then had paperwork which had to be done.

I am reading all the comments, but I am doing little but recommending comments I believe are worthy.

I say I want to provoke a conversation.  When I do that in my classroom, I often get entirely out of the way and let the students discuss without my intervention.  I feel no obligation to respond to every comment, and sometimes even when a comment is misreading what i have written it is better to let someone else make that point rather than my seeming to be prickly.

I have barely enough time to read the more than 100 comments posted since I last looked at this diary.

I do eventually read all. I respond where I feel it to be necessary.

do we still have a Republic and a Constitution if our elected officials will not stand up for them on our behalf?
