effort at self-description.  As a fellow teacher of The Constitution, (though not nearly as good a teacher of it as yourself! :), I find myself filled with an ever increasing appreciation for The Constitution every time I teach a new group of students about it.

I am so grateful that even though most of the same ideological differences existed then as they do now, the founding fathers were able to so elegantly compromise together, as statesmen, to create an operational governmental system that supported the fundamental principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence regarding our natural rights and the purpose of government.

And, I particularly appreciate Article 5 which IMO demonstrates their profound respect for posterity, the democratic process, and their ultimate humility even as they made their best efforts to establish their governing masterpiece.

Listening to John McCain regarding the alleged New York bomber, I could only shake my head.  It is so sad to hear a sitting Senator, a man who could have been President, so cynically trash the fundamental principles of the body of law that he has sworn to uphold.

FWIW, I am extremely grateful that you are so fundamentally committed to the fundamentals in our Constitution, and that you are a teacher of that Constitution.  Thank you so very much for all that you do, every day, for each of your students, Teacherken.  Your commitment to these fundamentals are helping to make our nation better, one young, critical thinking citizens at a time.
