  •  The Dems? Are NOT Very Popular With Their Base (6+ / 0-)

All that kissing lobbyist "centerist" ass over taking care of their base is turning out very predictably.

Screw the conservaDems and the elephant they rode in on.

been the stronger candidate to drive turnout. But I think Strickland will do OK in the end. I think we'll probably lose Senate and treasurer, but should do OK in the middle, unless turnout is abysmal. The last days of the Senate campaign are not going to help enthusiasm, though. I wish different choices had been made, including by front-pagers here.

      •  Brunner's "turnout" just got blown to bits... (0+ / 0-)

        ...as an argument.

A candidate who cannot drive turnout in her own party's primary, is not capable of driving turnout in the general election.

That Brunner also was plum broke, itself entirely her own fault, further undermined any rationale for Ohio Democratic voters since it demonstrated a poor campaign that would only repeat itself going forward.

She had no strong appeal on the ground, she had no strong volunteer field, she had no money to buy field.

Fisher has his own shortcomings, mainly financial ones, but he's obviously stronger than Brunner against Portman.
