  •  I never said what they did was right... (0+ / 0-)

I believe drugs should be legalized as well...especially marijuana, even though I don't smoke it.  However, I've chosen to not watch the video, but from some of the comments on here I saw some say that the video doesn't show everything.  So to know the full extent of what happened isn't possible through this video alone.

    •  Again, beside the point. (0+ / 0-)

You're fixated on shooting the dogs and whether it was justified.  That is the wrong thing to focus on.  The right thing to focus on is why a SWAT team using SWAT tactics was deployed to serve this warrant.

The fact that officers with guns drawn, body armor, and presumptive authority to use deadly force, for something as minor as a suspected marijuana offense, means that they are using incredibly aggressive tactics for what turned out to be a misdemeanor amount of pot, in the process scarring this family and those kids for life.

Set aside what you think is the issue for a second and ask: was deploying this much force against this suspect justified?  You've completely ignored this question so far.

      •  Was the suspect thought to have had more (0+ / 0-)

than a misdemeanor's worth of marijuana?  If so (it'd be interesting to see why they thought that though), then yes, it would be justified...Drugs are illegal.  They're just doing their job.

        •  Okay, you're obviously not going to get this. (0+ / 0-)

You just said they only found a misdemeanor's worth of marijuana...so in other words, you didn't think it was justified since it was only a misdemeanor's worth.  And if that's irrelevant, then I don't know why you would have mentioned it.
