I have a healthy skepticism for the goals of any NOM project, but there is a desperation in your attempt to wring controversy out of every aspect of this that is worthy of a wingnut blog, not Daily Kos.

The fretting about the logo is just silly, and trying to cast the story of Ruth as some horrible anti-feminist tale is truly pathetic.  So Ruth felt closer to her dead husband's family than her own and wanted to remarry one of his male relatives.  What the hell is wrong with that?  You've never known anyone who's developed a greater bond with in-laws than her own family?  It might be different if she was raped by Boaz, but she goes willingly.

You read into the language "sexual initiation."  Um, that just means "when someone becomes sexual active" and is not some kind of sinister reference to cult initiation or somesuch bullshit.

For fuck's sake, are we turning into the Left-Wing version of RedState?

Those are Evangelicals.  These are Catholics and Mormons -- at least according to the diary.

Are we now going to just start making up associations like Glenn Beck?

Well, by all means, don't let me interrupt the group pearl-clutching.

and it's good to see you here again.

I think I owe you an email. Also hoping to really see you in a month and a half.
