    is to give them POW status. This is about the most logical choice of all choices. But unfortunately it comes with a host of problems that stem from the fact that al-Qaeda doesn't belong to any government. When exactly is the war considered "over"? After WWII ended we released Japanese and German prisoners, but those were uniformed troops under the command of their respective governments. We didn't have to worry about them attacking us upon their release. There will never be a point when releasing hundreds of al-Qaeda members wouldn't be detrimental to national security.

    The situation we're in is unprecedented and there are no cut and dry choices.
