  •  Wonderful and heartbreaking diary . . . (17+ / 0-)

dear Sis Ono.  I'm so sorry that you and your family had to endure that.

Our own dynamic had similarities, but Dad only hit us kids.  He never hit Mom, but he inflicted a steady diet of verbal and psychological abuse on her, which certainly took an enormous toll.

Mother's Day and Father's Day certainly dredge up a lot of stuff, don't they?  Stuff I often think I'd much prefer to leave buried.  It must be doubly difficult for you, with your daughter's birthday and mother's loss inextricably intertwined.  I have no words of wisdom, and nothing that will even remotely help, I know, but I'm sending a virtual hug and much love your way this evening.

Oh honey, there is no such thing as "ONLY hit us kids." Should never have happened. To any of you.

I'm so terribly sorry you, your siblings and mom went through that.

You all deserved so much love and safety. And you still do.

Much love and hugs to you honey.

      •  Funny how we still internalize it, huh? (5+ / 0-)

Just as I hit "post," I realized how I'd phrased it.  Oh, well.

I've stayed out of most of the Mother's Day diaries today; I just knew that I wouldn't be able to handle it.  I didn't dare  even open Shanikka's.  I'm still not sure why I opened yours, but I'm glad I did.

Much love back to you, my dear.  You're a beautiful soul, and you've done something very valuable today.  Prayers for nothing but blessings for you and your family, and for your mother's spirit.
