These are teabaggers... you actually expect them to understand facts or statistics?  Get real!

      Go here:

Take a look at what your effective federal tax rate would have been back through 1950.

Pay particular attention to the graph in the right column showing your effective rate over the years. (You can even toggle back and forth to see how they calculate it and effective rate graph.)  Notice anything strange? For most of us, the graphed effective rate for federal income tax is going to be roughly flat for that whole time.

Now take a look at what it would have been for someone making $1 million (or the 1950 equivalent.)

The break generally occurs at what is today $200,000.

Below that, pretty much flat. At and above $200,000, it looks increasingly like the rates jumped off a cliff starting with the Reagan revolution (with seems increasingly to have been a revolt of the rich.)

The higher you go, the steeper the drop.

So unless all those teabaggers are millionaires in deep, deep cover, all their protests are meant to keep the rich undertaxed so the rest of us pay more or get less.

It also shows where that money went over that same period. Interesting stuff.

Tax bills in 2009 at lowest level since 1950

It's 'redistribution' whether it happens before or after the money is made and whether it goes up to a small group or down to a larger one.
