  •  Hey Unenergy! Congrats! (5+ / 0-)

On BP finally releasing a little video. I mentioned a few times, but you brought it up first, most often, and never gave up.

I would think the media themselves would have a part in pestering them, but after watching CNN cave to their excuses, I think, as much as any other entity....

    YOU did it!

    Way. To. Go.

It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.

    •  Cheers. Front page news that video is at (3+ / 0-)

      Huffington Post :
WATCH: OIL GUSHING 5,000 FEET UNDERWATER

      ABC News

      US edition of CNN news

MSNBC, BBC have the spill front paged but not the riser video.

Fox News, well that's propaganda so didn't check. Most likely they have a 'theory' of how Obama caused it, didn't stop it or wanted it to happen. Poison for the soul and destroying our humanity is that organization.

So all in all more people are paying attention, which is the right thing as this is going to hurt a lot of families and they deserve better information and coverage both from BP and the American media.

Those folks who are trying to get in the way of progress - let me tell you, I'm just getting started. I don't quit. I'm not tired; I'm just getting started.

Oh yeah! The White House and ESPECIALLY The Media have been pressuring the shit out of BP!

        Makes me want to puke.

people get to see it and make a judgement for themselves.

Although going on the two 'snippets' being about 30 seconds each of 23 days of potential footage with at least 4 probably many more robots with cameras, I'm guessing these videos were specially selected.

Still I'd like to know if a flow rate calculation could be done with what is seen in both the riser leak video and the 4 storey containment vessel video, as I'm thinking 5,000 barrels is way low ball. Particularly the speed which the 100 ton containment vessel appeared to fill up with oil.

Plus that gusher flowing at that rate into 150 bar header pressure from the water of the ocean itself, God only knows how much pressure is behind that.

Those folks who are trying to get in the way of progress - let me tell you, I'm just getting started. I don't quit. I'm not tired; I'm just getting started.

          •  Here's the truth, friend: (2+ / 0-)

They could stick a minimal restrictor and a pitot tube over that leak, just holding it out there on a ROV arm, take 2 minutes worth of pressure readings, and as long as they have a reasonable idea of the GOR (they do) they could get within 15% +/- of the volume of that leak, both gas and oil. So if they read 20,000 BOPD, it could be 23,000 BOPD or 17,000 BOPD, but that's maximum error. The realistic range of accuracy would be more like 21,500 BOPD to 18,500 BOPD.

Not bad. But why would they do that when virtually ALL the media is going with 5000 BOPD and not asking question one? Read it off the BP press release, type it on the script, lets hit the bar.

Now BP would say that the pitot tube setup, under these conditions, isn't considered accurate. They'd be technically right. Standard oilfield measurement for SALES is +/- .3%

But this isn't for sales and BP knows it. They're lying without lying. And they're good at it.

That's the truth and as a measurement hand, I'll sign that and date it.
