  •  Lots of errors (12+ / 0-)

There are a lot of errors in this diary, including the belief that US military aid moves us closer to peace (if that were true, the last $100 billion in military aid to Israel would have bought us world peace long since).

The central point I'll make is that Iron Dome does not work, and the fantasy behind it (shooting down a thousand dollar rocket with a million dollar missile) cannot work.  It is a public relations tool to tell Israelis that their government has a plan to protect them without the need for peace and to tell the rest of the world that the Israelis always have a super-badass technological edge.  It also conveniently brings in more money from the US to bolster the defense industry.  In all of these aspects, it is very similar to another missile defense system some folks may have heard of in the past.
