When we brought our old kitty (Russian Blue, 2 weeks short of his 20th birthday) to the vet because we knew his time was growing short, the vet told us  he was dying of kidney failure. We took him home, hoping he could die peacefully there, but by the next day, after a night spent sleeping between us, he was unresponsive and breathing shallowly.  We took him back to the vet. We sent him to his final rest there.

WHat kept me goign was that the little vet tech, a sweet Goth girl, had shown us three tiny kitten, barely 2 weeks old, abandoend by their mother. A kind GOod Samaritan brought them to the vet.  One died that night, but three had held on. We fell for Jack Sparrow.  I admit though that I loved one little red lion cub (they were all brown tabbies, but this one had a red tinge to his cheeks), while my husband fell for the other .  We said on the spot we would adopt Jack once he was ready to go to a forever home.

Jack didn;t make it. We lsot Illya on TUesday, and Jack passed that night, So I put in a claim onthe lion cub.  WHen we went to pick him up, he'd had a sex change--with kittens so tiny it's sometimes ahrd to know what gender they actually are. SHe was christened ANne BOnney on the spot, and is an utter delight, fierce and wild and loving.

ANother trip to the ver and my hsuband fell in love witha tuxedo kitten, fluffy long hair and white boots on his huind legs, white gloves on the front paws--D'Artagnan.  Then in December Celo, themostly Maine Coon, was fopund wandering out street on a very cold night. SHe wasn't supposed to stay, but she did.  We're up to seven cats. It was a WILD CHristiams, with 4 young cats under the age of a year, msot under six monhts.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
