Last night, Rachel Maddow asked him over and over again whether he supports or opposes the government requiring private businesses to desegregate. Every time, for like 20 minutes, he refused to answer. Even when she asked him "just a yes or no, sir" he refused to answer. He just filibustered answers to other questions he'd prefer to answer. He did insist that the government has no place in regulating private businesses, which does answer the question as "opposes the Civil Rights Act". Indeed he said that he would not have voted for it, both in the past (the basis for the question session) and again in his answers last night. He said he was all in favor of all the other parts of the Civil Rights Act (which he refers to as "the Civil Rights", not "the Civil Rights Act", since he doesn't believe in any rights except property), except the parts governing private business.

It's obvious that he opposes civil rights enforcement over private business. He supports forced elimination of government racism... along with forced elimination of anything government.

He's nuts. A racist. And a terrible liar, who thinks he's getting away with it. And through his victory last night, he is. So far.

    •  "So far." This is a great energizer (0+ / 0-)

for the opposition.  I think he might have gone a bridge too far.
