  •  Paul nationalizing KY race will lose to KY Conway (5+ / 0-)

One of the lessons of the recent primary and by-elections was that Democrats won by making the races as local as possible and not about DC and national power politics.

Rand Paul is a national candidate. Do people of KY who have no jobs or are getting killed in badly run coal mines care about Rand Paul's wanting to bring back segregation or his Constitutional purity or defending British Petroleum?

What about Kentucky Rand?  Who are you for miners or BP Coal companies?  How is your Constitutional ranting going to help me get a job in KY?  Pay for my kid's laid off teacher?  Get me health care?

Conway will focus on Kentucky and, rightly, paint Paul as playing to a national audience of extremists vs. taking care of Kentuckians.

    •  How about posting a link (0+ / 0-)

so we can all contribute to Conway's campaign.  It would be well worth the money

    •  You're right, but Conway has to continue to frame (0+ / 0-)

the issues by highlighting the fact that he is focusing on local issues.  Believe it or not, despite all the issues affecting local Kentuckians, there may be a lot of folks who may be duped into buying the bullshit that Rand is selling.  Conway has to keep the race focused and the Dems must come out in full force on election day.
